Patricia A. (Marquis) Perron, 77, widow of Robert J. Perron, of East Hartford, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022 at Harbor Chase at Evergreen Walk, South Windsor surrounded by her family and friends.
Patricia was born in Keegan, Maine and was the daughter to the late Lionel and Alfreda (Berube) Marquis. She had worked for United Healthcare until her retirement and was a parishioner of St. Edmund Campion Parish (St. Christopher Church Campus).
Patricia, or Patty P as she came to be, enjoyed spending time with her daughters Robin and Tracy, their spouses, Lauren and Luis and being a Mémère to four amazing grandchildren: Sierra, Olivia, Luis Jr. and Julian.
Her most enjoyable times were shared with her lifelong friends, whether she was camping at Witch Meadow, playing cards, watching her UCONN Women’s basketball team, or vacationing with her special friends in much warmer destinations. Patty also enjoyed her Annual Marquis Sisters’ Weekend and the numerous family gatherings.
Patty will be remembered for her infectious smile, her love for baking, making her world-famous chicken salad (which should have been patented), her unending love for her grandchildren, where she never missed a dance recital, football, softball, basketball or baseball game – even if it meant traveling out of state to be the #1 and most popular fan! Everyone, on every team loved Mémère!
Patty is survived by her daughter Robin Perron and spouse Lauren Beja of Wilmington, NC and Tracy Gonzalez and spouse (Luis Gonzalez) of East Hartford, CT, as well as four very special grandchildren (Sierra, Olivia, Luis Jr, and Julian). Luis was the son that Patty never had, who was dedicated to her care, comfort and well being for over 30 years; who kept his promise to BoBo to always take care of Patty. Lauren was the one who gave Patty her name “Mamma” and who brought a certain level of Bronx love into the house after the passing of her beloved, BoBo. Robin and Tracy loved their mother dearly and will miss the opportunity to share new memories with her but will forever be grateful for the memories that have blessed their lives thus far.
She was predeceased by her sister Joan Cyr, brother Jerry Marquis, and sister Leola LaMothe and is survived by her sisters: Jeanine Dumont, Priscilla Marquis, Ann Zurell, Rose Clavette, Brenda Hollis and many special friends, nieces, and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Funeral services will be Wednesday (December 7, 2022) at 10am from the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, with a mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11am at St. Christopher Church of St. Edmund Campion Parish, 538 Brewer St., East Hartford. Burial will be private. Family and friends may call on Tuesday (December 6, 2022) from 4pm-7pm at the funeral chapel. Memorial donations in Patricia’s name may be made to Harbor Chase at Evergreen Walk 1000 Evergreen Way, South Windsor, CT 06074 C/O Associate Fund, ATTN: Stacey Pellingra, Executive Director.
