
Peggy Jean Eason, 61, of East Hartford, CT, peacefully entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, surrounded by her caring family at John Dempsey – UConn Medical Center in Farmington, CT after a brief illness with cancer. Born in Meridian, Mississippi on November 20, 1964, a daughter of Mary D. Eason, she had been a resident of Hartford, CT for over 40 years prior to moving to East Hartford 14 years ago.
Always willing to help others, Peggy worked at Dunkin Donuts on the Silas Deane Highway in Wethersfield, CT for several years serving many customers and making new friends. She was always available to help her family and neighbors, especially babysitting the young children. She loved dogs, especially all her grand dogs, and people will remember her listening to her “oldies” while dancing around the room. Most of all, Peggy was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, niece, and aunt who loved spending time with every family member.
Peggy is survived by her loving two daughters, Amy Ayala and her significant other, Jesus Rodriguez, of East Hartford, CT, and Erica Maisonet and her spouse, Karen, of Southington, CT; her beloved mother, Mary D. Eason of Hartford, CT; two brothers, Michael Eason and his wife Dottie of Atlanta, GA, and Shawn Boulier and his wife Lisa of Hartford, CT; a sister, Gail Eason-Grimaldo and her husband Luis Grimaldo of Hartford, CT; six cherished grandchildren, Destiny Eason of Manchester, CT, Haley Arroyo of New Britain, CT, Nicholas Arroyo of Southington, CT, Aubrey Lozada of East Hartford, CT, Chase Maisonet of Southington, CT, and Alyvia Rodriguez of East Hartford, CT; one adored great-granddaughter, Everleigh Papallo of New Britain, CT; many nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and dear friends. Peggy was predeceased by a son, Eric Carlos Maisonet of Hartford, CT, and one daughter, Eboney Eason of East Hartford, CT.
Funeral service celebrating Peggy’s life will be Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 11 am at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford, CT. Burial will follow at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, Cottage Grove Road, Bloomfield, CT. Peggy’s family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home chapel on Thursday morning from 9:30 am to 11 am.
