

Richard H. Trinks, 91, beloved husband of 53 years to the late Jeanne (Beauregard) Trinks, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2022 peacefully with his family by his side. He was the son of the late William and Emma (Dixon) Trinks and was a lifelong resident of East Hartford. He was a graduate of East Hartford High School, class of 1948. He was a medic in the US Army and spent the Korean War in Europe. He worked for Pratt & Whitney and retired after 36 years, where he worked on the J58/F100/TF 30, and continued to keep up on engine development thru his son Steve. Richard was an avid clock maker and wood craftsman. He spent many hours in his workshop crafting clocks for family and friends. He enjoyed golf, fishing and traveling. He was an avid fan of the UConn Huskies basketball team, Boston Red Sox, and New York Giants.
Richard leaves his four devoted children and their families, Steven and Karen Trinks, Donna and David Porter, Christopher and Bernadette Trinks, and daughter Michele Waterman; his five special grandchildren, Alicia Porter, Richard Porter, Catherine Trinks, Heather Denas, and Ashley Pierce; his great grandsons, Avery and Caleb Porter, and two great granddaughters, Charlotte Denas and Kennedy Pierce. He also leaves his three sisters-in-law, Theresa Beauregard, Nancy Trinks, and Maria Trinks; a brother-in-law, Ed Jarow; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. In addition to his wife, and parents, Richard was predeceased by a son, Gary Trinks; four brothers and five sisters, William “Bill” Trinks, Irving “Moose” Trinks, Frederick “Fred” Trinks, Robert “Bob” Trinks, Evelyn Jarow, Barbara Mellott, Beverly Bores, Lois Giguere, and June Green; his lifelong friend Al Phillips; and his special lady friend Lucille Lemek. Dad was a quiet man who was a solid rock and foundation for our family. We will miss him dearly and know that he is now in the loving arms of our mom. We love you Dad...
Funeral service will be Friday (April 8, 2022) at 11 am at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Burial with military honors will follow at Silver Lane Cemetery-Veteran’s Memorial Field, East Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Friday morning from 10 – 11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Richard’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
