Rita (Cadorette) Damboise, 95, of Bloomfield and formerly of West Hartford, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at Seabury Skilled Care Center, Bloomfield. Rita was the loving wife of 53 years of the late Mitchell F. Damboise. Born in Berlin, NH on March 8, 1925, a daughter of the late Alphonse and Ernestine (Lavertue) Cadorette, she had been a resident of West Hartford for many years prior to moving to Bloomfield in 2014. Before retiring, Rita was an Assembler for over 23 years at M.H. Rhodes Mfg. Company in Avon. A devout catholic, she was a former communicant of St. Timothy’s Church in West Harford. Rita loved to play cards, poker, cook and bake for her family, and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. Most of all, Rita was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her family.
Rita is survived by three sons, Ronald Damboise and his wife Jadwiga of West Hartford, Dwight David Damboise of Unionville, Glen Damboise and his wife Michele of West Hartford; a daughter, Charlene Lizotte of Berlin; ten special grandchildren, Kim Lizotte, Kris Damboise and his wife Aline, Kristina Owren and her husband Lars, Holly Damboise and her partner Scott Balch, Steven Damboise and his wife Barbara, Jennifer Damboise and her partner Dave Podieski, Anthony Thompson, Nicole Garland and her husband Michael, Brian Damboise and his wife Shannon, and Sean Damboise; seventeen adored great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Rita was predeceased by a daughter, Doreen Jorgensen of Vernon.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at St. Timothy’s Church, 1116 North Main Street, West Hartford. Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church on Saturday morning and wear a face covering while adhering to all the CDC and church regulations. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Rita’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook Street, I-91 Tech Center, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
