Robert “Bob” Bruce McNeish of Meriden, Connecticut passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at the age of 38. He was the son of Bruce and Catherine McNeish and grew up in East Hartford alongside his loving older sister Mary Beth. Bob was a Project Manager and Furniture Coordinator for Aetna and Cushman & Wakefield for over 11 years.
From his earliest days Bob was a dedicated athlete and a natural leader. As a little boy he was into all sports - soccer, basketball, volleyball, and baseball, but ultimately his passion was basketball. He was a former All-Conference Player at East Hartford High School and played on the Varsity team for four years and served as captain for three of them. Bob was recruited by Quinnipiac University where he was a Division 1 collegiate player and persevered to lead the team to new levels under his leadership as captain. His Quinnipiac jersey #42 still hangs in East Hartford High School. Bob’s passion for basketball led him to serve as a coach for youth at the Quinnipiac summer basketball camp. He was also an avid golfer and lifelong Yankees fan. He will be remembered as a fierce competitor, loyal teammate, fan favorite and devoted friend to so many.
Bob’s family was the center of his world and he was the center of theirs. He especially reveled in spending quality time with his two beloved young boys, Cameron and Caden, and college sweetheart and wife, Veronica. He will be remembered by all who loved him as a humble, loving, and kind-hearted spirit. Bob brought out the best in everyone. His genuine connections, warm smile, and enveloping hugs will be missed by those lucky enough to call him a son, brother, husband, father, colleague, and friend.
Bob is survived by his parents, Bruce and Catherine McNeish; his loving wife Veronica (Weekes), with whom he shared his life for over 11 years; his two beloved sons, Cameron James Lloyd and Caden Thomas; his sister Mary Beth Fedirko and her husband Robert of Philadelphia, PA; his nephew Myles; and the many dear friends and co-workers whose lives he touched.
A Memorial Celebration will take place from 10am -12 noon, with time for words of remembrance from family and friends beginning at 11:30am on Saturday, August 5th at D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford, CT.
