
Robert Charles ""Bob"" Scully, 84, of East Hartford, loving husband of Florence (Klein) Scully, entered into eternal life on Saturday (January 21, 2006) after a long illness. Born in Hartford, a son of the late Charles Robert and Anne (Holehouse) Scully, he had resided in West Hartford, Manchester for many years, and Riviera Beach, FL for 29 years, prior to moving to East Hartford this past year. He attended West Hartford local schools, the Morse School of Business, Hartford, and was a proud U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 37 years as a Financial Analyst by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Co. both in East Hartford and West Palm Beach, FL. He was a Fourth Degree member and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Council #573, Manchester. He later continued his membership in the K of C down in West Palm Beach, FL. He was a loyal member of the Palm Beach Gardens Moose Club in Florida where he and his family enjoyed many dinners. Bob was an avid golfer and cribbage player, but everyone will remember him for being a player of various card games, especially rumiere (a variation of rummy). Besides his parents his only sister, Mary E. Scully of West Hartford, predeceased him. Besides his beloved wife, Florence, of 56 years whom he married in 1950, Bob is survived by his four caring sons and daughters-in-law, Charles R. & Marianne Scully of East Hartford, Thomas J. & Diane Scully of Manchester, Timothy D. & Mary Scully of Bolton, James R. & Debra Scully of East Hartford; his aunt, Mary D. Scully of Wethersfield; five special grandchildren; five adored great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; numerous cousins and dear friends. Funeral service will be Saturday (January 28th) with a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, Cambridge Drive, East Hartford. Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
