

Robert O. Myers, 72, of East Hartford, peacefully entered into eternal life on Friday (October 15, 2010) at his home with his sister by his side. Born in Philadelphia, PA on May 20, 1938, a son of the late Russell and Aurise (Beaudry) Myers, he had resided in East Hartford for the past forty years. Robert was a graduate of Manhattan College in New York and earned his MSEE degree from UCONN. Prior to his retirement in 2003, Bob was employed as an Electrical Engineer by Kaman Aircraft for 34 years and Sikorsky Aircraft for ten years. While working at Kaman, Bob was on a special assignment for three years with the U.S. Navy and traveled to work in Sicily, Italy, the Philippines, and Hawaii. Bob was an active and faithful communicant of St. Mary's Church, East Hartford where he was a former CCD teacher, Eucharistic Minister, Lector, Altar Server, Bingo volunteer, Food Bank volunteer, and member of the Men's Club. Bob was also a member of the National Helicopter Society. Bob is survived by his sister, M. Annette Myers of White Plains, NY; a brother, Chesley Roy Myers and his wife, Rosanne, of Mahopac, NY; a niece, Jennifer Castro and her husband, Frank, of Putnam Valley, NY and their two children, Caden and Annabelle; a nephew, John Myers of Mahopac, NY; special friends, Anita and John Morrison of East Hartford; and many other friends and former co-workers. Funeral services will be Wednesday (October 20, 2010) at 9:15 a.m. from the D'Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 am at St. Mary's Church, Main Street/Maplewood Avenue, East Hartford. Burial will be held on Saturday at White Plains Rural Cemetery, White Plains, NY.
