Robert G. “Big Bob” Wall, 90, of East Hartford, beloved husband for 23 years of the late Linda (Spakoski)Wall, passed away at home on Friday, September 11, 2026. Born on Silver Lane in East Hartford on February 10, 1936, he was the son of the late Charles and Ethel (Barton) Wall and spent his childhood years in West Hartford on Taylor Road. Bob was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving after the Korean War.
He worked as a snowplow operator for the State of Connecticut during the blizzard of 1978. He was a heavy equipment operator for many years and was later employed by Black & Decker Tool Company as a repair technician for over 18 years. However, his true love was climbing and cutting trees, earning him the nickname of “Big Bob.” Bob took pride in maintaining his lawn and property. He loved working and being outside and was also a lover of animals.
Bob is survived by his stepchildren, Janet Boling and husband Ken of East Windsor, Allison Spakoski of Tennessee and Andrew Spakoski and wife Debbie of East Windsor; several former co-workers, customers, neighbors and dear friends.
Calling hour will be Wednesday, September 23, 2026 from 10-11 a.m. concluding with a Chapel Prayer Service at 11 a.m. at the D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford.
