Salvatrice Concetta “Tina” (Tarascio) Stevens, 93, of Glastonbury and formerly of East Hartford, peacefully passed away surrounded by her caring family on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Hartford Hospital. She was the wife of the late Raymond Stevens. Born in Hartford on March 15, 1925, a daughter of the late Sebastian and Rosalie (Manganaro) Tarascio, she had been a resident of the East Hartford/Glastonbury area for over 65 years, raising her five sons and establishing life-long friendships. Tina was a fiercely independent woman who enjoyed dancing, especially square dancing where she participated in many competitions, listening to music, watching baseball, and most of all playing bingo. Tina’s smile, laugh and lively spirit are among the traits that made her unforgettable.
Tina is survived by four sons, David Betz of East Hartford, Joe Stevens and his wife, Kristina, of Amston, Tom Stevens of Enfield, Bruce Stevens and his wife, Kathleen, of East Hartford; a grandson, Michael Betz and his wife, Bobbie-Jo, of New Hampshire; and five great-grandchildren. Along with her beloved husband and parents, Tina was predeceased by a son, Richard Betz of East Harford and a brother, Anthony Tarascio of Newington.
Funeral service celebrating Tina’s life will be Friday (August 3, 2018) at 11:30 am at the D’ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, (Veteran’s Field #2), Hillside Street, East Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Friday morning from 10 – 11:30 am.
