

Sarah ""Sally"" (Clapper) Rist of East Hartford, beloved wife of Frank Rist for 62 years has been relieved of all pain and suffering. She was called home on Sunday, (July 24, 2011) by the great architect, Creator of the Universe, for eternal peace. Sally was predeceased by her son, David Brian Rist, and her daughter Gail S. Rist-Risucci. She is deeply loved by her remaining family members: husband Frank Rist; daughter and son-in-law Cyndi and Andre Guillotin; grandchildren Taryn S. Risucci, Jeffrey M. Risucci, Brian Rist-Gustafson and his wife Katie, Brittany Gustafson, Brendan Gustafson and daughter-in-law Maureen Gustafson and her husband Brian Gustafson. Sally loved her many nieces and nephews, who brought her joy. She was predeceased by her brothers, sisters, and parents. Sally was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Good Intent Chapter #17, as well as a member of the Fraternal Order of Rebekah. Sally was a fun-loving person, and her family's favorite memories include sitting around the kitchen table and sharing stories for hours. She enjoyed a good laugh, a funny joke, and embracing new family traditions, including drinking Margaritas on Christmas Eve. She loved hanging around with her family and friends by the campfire listening to music and singing along. She enjoyed cooking; trying new recipes and watching her flowers grow. She also had a soft spot in her heart for animals. Most of all, she loved her family.
Funeral services will be Thursday (July 28th) at 10:30 a.m. at the D'Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with Rev. Sandra Cosman officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, East Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Wednesday (July 27th) from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sally's name may be made to a favorite charity of the donor's choice.
