Sylvia (aziz) Goode

Sylvia (Aziz) Goode, 81, of South Glastonbury, loving wife of the late Walter J. Goode, entered into eternal life on Sunday, (January 20, 2008) at the Glastonbury Health Care Center after a brief illness. She was raised in Brooklyn, NY and summered in Staten Island, NY prior to residing in East Hartford for 32 years and later moving to South Glastonbury in 1997. Sylvia took pride in cleaning her home, while enjoying gardening, crafts, roses, and chocolate. She also loved listening to Perry Como music and being around her family. Besides her beloved husband of 36 years, Sylvia was predeceased by her parents, Norman and Anna (Akel) Aziz; and her half-sister, Madeline Abdou of Staten Island, NY. Sylvia is survived by her caring and devoted three children, John J. Goode and his wife, Ruth of Cumming, GA, Mary G. Martin and her husband, Jack of South Glastonbury, Ann G. Quinn and her husband, John of Glastonbury; and a special granddaughter, Jennifer Goode of Cumming, GA. Sylvia was also a beloved aunt to many who knew her. A memorial service to celebrate Sylvia's life will be Wednesday, January 23 at 12 noon at the D'ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Wednesday from 11 a.m.-12 noon. Private burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
