

Theresa “Teka” Kathleen Agnew, 57, of Berlin and formerly of East Hartford, peacefully journeyed home to be with her parents and family members on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at her residence. Born in Hartford on February 8, 1965, a loving daughter of the late Francis “Frank” and Helen M. (Handy) Agnew, she had been a resident of the East Hartford area for most of her life. Theresa was a graduate of East Hartford High School, class of 1985. She loved listening to music (especially Barry Manilow), dancing, going to Dunkin Donuts, and drinking a good cup of coffee and a can of Coca Cola Classic. Most of all, she cherished spending time and conversing with her family members.
Theresa is survived by three brothers, James “Jim” Agnew and his wife Elaine of Bolton, Gary Agnew and his wife Dorothy “Joyce” of Columbia, Francis “Hank” Agnew of Storrs/Mansfield; and three sisters, Susan Coburn and her husband Tim of Glastonbury, Christine Agnew of Essex, Diane Turkis and her husband Bruce of Columbia. She also leaves two brothers-in-law, Raymond “Ray” George and William “Bill” Riordan both of East Hartford; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and dear friends. Besides her beloved parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Sharon Riordan and Mary Beth “Bea” George both of East Hartford.
Funeral service will be Thursday (December 22, 2022) at 10:30 am from the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 am at St. Rose Church of North American Martyrs Parish, 33 Church Street, East Hartford. Burial will follow at Silver Lane Cemetery, (Section DD), Silver Lane, East Hartford. Theresa’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday morning from 9 – 10:30 am at the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution sin Theresa’s name may be made to CCARC, 950 Slater Road, New Britain, CT 06053.
