Therese (Lambert) Bonneau, 96, of East Hartford, loving wife of 45 years of the late Laurent Rene Bonneau, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 with her loving family by her side. Born on May 23, 1923 in Victoriaville, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Marie (Labbè) Lambert. A devout Catholic, Therese was a longtime, faithful communicant of St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Hartford and a past President of their Rosary Altar Society. She was a proud and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who devoted her life to caring for her family and was happiest when they were all together.
A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be forever missed by her six children, Beatrice Keegan of Broad Brook, Sr. Jeanne Bonneau, CND of Montreal, Canada, Doris B. Fargo of Broad Brook, Larry Bonneau and Margie Vizard of Hamden, Richard Bonneau and Janet of Palm City, FL, Robert Bonneau and Catherine of Plymouth, MA; fifteen adored grandchildren; and eighteen cherished great-grandchildren. She also leaves two sisters, Beatrice Czapla of Newington, Marie Claire Wolfersdorf of Broad Brook; a sister-in-law, Olive Bonneau of Manchester; many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends. Besides her beloved husband and parents, she was sadly predeceased by her daughter, Carol Ann Bonneau; three brothers, Roger, Paul and Maurice Lambert; six sisters, Antoinette Girouard, Lucille Borglund, Irene Lessard, Grace Bonneau, Delia LeBlanc, and Juliette Schwartz, and a sister-in-law, Claire Bernier.
Funeral service will be Saturday (October 19th) with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Christopher Church of St. Edmund Campion Parish, 538 Brewer Street, East Hartford. (The family of Therese has requested that everyone please go directly to the church on Saturday morning). Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery (Section 24), Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the D’ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford on Friday (October 18th) from 4 – 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Therese’s memory may be made to the Congregation of Notre Dame, 30 Highfield Road, Wilton, CT 06897. Therese’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the entire staff at Riverside Health Care & Rehabilitation Center in East Hartford for their professionalism, compassion, and gentle wonderful care given to Therese and her entire family this past year.
