Valerie A. Giammarino

Born in Yaxley, England, Valerie came to the United States as an infant. She spent most of her life in Connecticut, graduating from East Hartford High School, class of 1963. Then later moved to Brevard County, Florida, where she first settled in Cape Canaveral and later built a home in Titusville.

Valerie worked in an administrative capacity for the JCPenney Catalog Division. A gifted artist, she especially enjoyed acrylic painting and using pen and ink. Valerie and her husband shared a love of movies, building an impressive collection and spending many happy hours watching them together. They also enjoyed traveling together.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 43 years, John Giammarino; her son, Douglas Frommer, and his wife, Meghan; six grandchildren, Jared Taylor, Kailey LeBlanc, Ryan Kirchberger, and Devin, Patrick, and Alexander Frommer; four great-grandchildren, Lillie-Mae, Emmilene, Oliver, and Sarah; her two sisters, Candy Tatro and Cynthia Mack and her brother, Daniel Batchelder.

Valerie was preceded in death by two of her children, Carl Frommer and Brenda Frommer and her brother, Michael Batchelder.

Friends and relatives may call at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 10 am – 11 am with a service to take place at 11 am in the funeral home chapel.
