

Vincent “Vinnie” J. Sheehan, Jr., 37, of East Hartford, unexpectedly journeyed Home to be with the Lord and his grandfather, Fred, on Thursday, December 17, 2015. Born in Hartford on November 28, 1978, he was a life-long resident of the East Hartford area. He was a talented baseball player in the East Hartford American Little League and a member of the 1992 East Hartford 13-year old all-stars District 8 Champions. He continued his career with the East Hartford American Legion team for several years. Vinnie was a enthusiast of Classic Cars, especially Mustangs and Cadillacs and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandmother, aunts and uncles.
Vinnie is survived by his wife of seven years, Joann M. (Jacques) Sheehan of East Hartford; his mother, Karen J. (Walz) Phillips and her husband, Alan, of East Windsor; his father, Vincent J. Sheehan of East Hartford; a daughter, Vanessa Ziemba of Middletown; a son, Alexander Sheehan and his wife, Katy, in Missouri; his maternal grandmother, Barbara (Narkawicz) Walz of Vernon; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Yves A. and Nicole (Lageux) Jacques of East Hartford; four brothers, Jason Sheehan of East Hartford, Alan Phillips, Jr. and his wife, Jarlyn, of Ellington, Michael Phillips of East Windsor, Matthew Strickland and his wife, Nikole, of Manchester; two sisters, Stephanie Lisenko of East Windsor, Tricia Phillips of Enfield; a brother-in-law, Steve Jacques and his wife, Patience, of Vernon; a grandson, Liam Sheehan; a godson, Shane Vincent Strickland; and a goddaughter, Kylie Sheehan. He also leaves a special dear aunt, Cindy Washburne and her husband, Clyde, of Hebron; three uncles, Fred Walz of Windsor, Rick Walz and his wife, Barbara, of East Hartford, Dan Walz and his wife, Chris, of Hebron; a special friend, William “Billy” Drohan of Vernon; many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends; his dog, Riley, and his cat, Toto. Vinnie was predeceased by his devoted maternal grandfather, Fred C. Walz, who was just like a father to Vinnie.
Funeral service will be Wednesday (December 23, 2015) at 10:30 am at the D’ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Burial will be at Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Tuesday (December 22, 2015) from 3-7 pm.
