

Walter Kaczmarczyk, Jr., 80, of Vernon and formerly Ellington, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 surrounded by his family. Born in East Hartford on January 24, 1936, he was the son of the late Walter Kaczmarczyk, Sr. and Helen (Kaczmarek) Kaczmarczyk and had lived in the area all his life. He graduated from East Hartford High School and was a member of Local #15 Ironworkers Union and a past President of the Rotary Club in Somers. He and his buddies were also members of ROMEO (Retired Old Men Eating Out). A loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, he will be dearly missed by his four children, Walter Kaczmarczyk, and wife Deborah of Somers, Kathy Stimpson and husband John of Windsor Locks, Brett Kaczmarczyk of Coventry and David Kaczmarczyk and wife Linda of Vernon and his five adored grandchildren, Kelly Kaczmarczyk, Kate Bombara, Joe Barker, Laura Hayes and Amy Stimpson and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Lorraine Jones and Dorothy Obermeir and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Thomas Kaczmarczyk and sister, Helen Milne. Funeral services will be Monday (December 5) at 10:30 a.m. at the D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Burial will follow in Our Savior’s Cemetery, Glastonbury. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Donations in Walter’s memory may be made to the Rotary Club of Somers.
