William F. Hynes

William F. Hynes, Jr., 74, of East Hartford, beloved husband of Louise (Greci) Hynes, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at St Francis Hospital & Medical Center. He was born June 25, 1943 in Hartford, the son of late William F. Hynes and Ruth (Pilon) Hynes. He was predeceased by his in-laws, Nicholas and Columbia Greci. Besides his loving wife, Louise, he is survived by his son, Stephen R. Hynes and his wife Tina (Carmel) Hynes. He also leaves behind his sister, Donna Cultrera; brother, Michael Hynes and his wife Camilla; sister, Deborah Martin; sister-in-law, Marie (Greci) Kowalski; brother-in-law, Joseph Greci and his wife Gail, and many treasured nieces and nephews.

Bill served in the U.S. Navy for six years and was aboard the USS Guam. He retired after 20 years as a Parts Manager for Brookside Automotive. Bill loved to cook and try out a new recipe, read a good book, and took pride in his yard. He was known to have the greenest lawn in his neighborhood. Bill’s sense of humor and kind ways will surely be missed by all that knew him.

Calling hours will be Saturday, October 21, from 9-11:30 a.m. at the D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. There will be a brief service at 11 a.m. concluding with military honors.
