

Zoila “Maggie” Margarita (Delgado) Menendez, 84, of East Hartford, peacefully entered into eternal life at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, May 17, 2026. Born on November 27, 1941, in Havana, Cuba, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Piedad (Martinez) Delgado.
Maggie proudly became a citizen of the United States and made her home in East Hartford alongside her beloved husband, Luis Menendez, where together they raised their family. Prior to her retirement, Maggie worked for many years at Travelers Insurance.
In her free time, Maggie enjoyed traveling, decorating her home for every season, and taking pride in maintaining a warm and welcoming household. Christmas was especially dear to her heart, as she loved hosting family and friends for holiday dinners. Above all else, Maggie treasured time with her grandchildren, helping to raise and care for each of them with endless love and devotion. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Luis G. Menendez of East Hartford; her son, Luis Menendez and his wife Gladie of Cromwell; her daughter, Jackie Nicoletti and her husband Michael of Manchester; and her four beloved grandchildren: Lexy Nicoletti, Vanessa Menendez and her fiancée Emily Karr, Cristina Menendez, and Michael Nicoletti.
Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her half-sister Caridad Gutierez.
Services for Maggie will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
