Albert Gil Martinez Sr., 67, has gone home on Monday, July 27, 2020, in Socorro, Texas. Albert Gil Martinez Sr. was born on September 14, 1952, in San Juan, Puerto Rico to the late Angel Gil Martinez and Judith Rivera.

Albert Gil Martinez Sr., better known as, Dad or Grandpa, served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Dad loved many things including keeping fish. He had always maintained a minimum of a 55-gallon tank in his home until recently where he created a fish pond and kept large goldfish. His larger than life personality always shown through with his mad guitar skills as he would sing for anyone nearby. Dad enjoyed riding his motorcycle while spending time on the road. His love for vehicles extended from the motorcycle to restoring classic cars; his most recent accomplishment was his restored 1959 Chevy Biscayne.

Albert Sr. is survived by his loving wife Cecilia Martinez, his six children: Albert Martinez Jr., Edwin Martinez, Carlos Martinez, Shirley Lopez, Jessica Martinez-Ortiz, Nilda Martinez; and his eleven grandchildren Yasmin Martinez, Anthony Harrelson, Angel Ortiz, Benjamin Lopez, Edwin Martinez Jr., Gabriel Martinez, Charlotte Lopez, Sofia Martinez, Lillie Martinez, Israel Ortiz, and Elias Ortiz. He is preceded in death by his father Angel Gil Martinez.
