Alberto “Beto” Gallegos Gonzalez, formerly of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, passed away on September 10, 2024, at the age of 85, at his residence in El Paso, Texas. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Alberto came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.
Beto met the love of his life, Estela, in Juarez, Mexico. They eventually married and then moved to the United States where they have lived ever since.
Beto proclaimed that his goal was to become a businessman and provide for his family in the best way he could. He came to the United States and started building a legacy for his family as a hardworking man who took many jobs in order to learn. He reached his goal by passionately cooking burgers and selling cars. His pride and joy businesses were Beto’s Lucky Boy, and Better Motors. His passion for business was rivaled only by his passion for sports as he played softball and baseball well into his 70’s. He enjoyed collecting model cars, baseball caps and hats, and eating ice cream.
Beto was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, and brother. He is preceded in death by his Father Alberto Gallegos, Mother Elijia Gallegos Gonzalez, 2 Brothers, 2 Sisters, daughter Lety Abogado and grandson Kenneth Michael Young.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Estela Jaime Gallegos; Sister Susanna Gallegos, 4 daughters; Maria DeJesus (James) Young, Georgina Gallegos (Joe) Bischoff, Blanca Estela (Eddie) Gonzalez and Lorena (Henry) Slack; 3 grandsons, Albert Richard Rivera, Guillermo Alberto Abogado and Christopher Ivan Abogado; 8 granddaughters, Jennifer Ferrell, Candice Marie Featherston, Krystin Alishia Brakhage, Alyson Nicole Gonzalez, Stephanie Ashle Bischoff, Alare Lisset Slack, Karla Ariadne Slack and Renatta Itzel Slack; 3 great grandsons, Tomas J Ferrell, Dax Cooper Brakhage and Luka Carter Brakhage; 2 great granddaughters, Sadie Alexis Olalde and Angelique Jocelyn Rivera; 2 great-great granddaughters Isabella Olalde and Eden Olalde; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandsons-in-law, a great grandson-in-law, and great friends.
