Dad was a very determined person. From a young age he had to endure many hardships from never knowing his father as a child to growing up poor and losing his mother when he was still a young boy. One constant in his life were his brothers and sisters especially while living with different relatives for the duration of his childhood. He met our mom while attending “tech school” in the printing program. After only meeting that day, dad asked mom to put his books in her locker because he was feeling sick. Dad tracked mom down when she didn’t return to school for a week due to a car accident, she was involved in. They dated, married in 1974 and were about to celebrate their forty-eighth year together. Alex, the first of three children was born in 1975 with Adrian coming a year later. Angie came along and his little family was complete. He worked his way up the ladder in his chosen profession, printing. Starting as a film stripper, he adapted to the changing industry and became a computer operator leading to department manager, Plant manager and finally an estimator, which he continued in until he retired in 2018. He had many interests in his life, but he enjoyed baseball the most watching just about every game after retirement. He favored the Cardinals and never missed a game, recording every one. He was a Cowboys fan through and through. So much so, I think he bled blue in the fall. He loved spending time with family from the cookouts we had every Sunday, listening to the oldies to cruising around El Paso after making a “mixtape” late Friday night, ordering Whataburger delivery while sorting through his massive record collection. Dad, Honey, brother, Pipa/Papa, uncle, friend; he will be missed because he touched the lives of everyone he interacted with in ways he never understood. We love you and will never forget you.
