Obituary of Alfredo C. Avila
Alfredo C. Avila went home to be with our Lord on January 18, 2022 in El Paso, Texas. Mr. Avila was born on December 4, 1930. He is preceded in death by his daughters Maria Estella and Elizabeth. Mr. Avila is survived by his wife, Manuela G. Avila, sons Guillermo (Nena), Alfredo (Chuy), Edward (Denise), Armando (Bea), David (Sonia), George, Daniel, daughter Graciela, his 21 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren, and his two beloved pets. At a young age, Mr. Avila proudly served in the U.S. Army and is a veteran of the Korean War. Upon his return to El Paso, Texas, he began his career as a carpet layer for his brother-in-law’s carpet company. It was not long before Mr. Avila became an entrepreneur and started his own carpet business, which thrived for many years, A&A Carpet Center. Mr. Avila was an avid member to the ELKS Lodge No. 187, where he served as an officer for several years. Above all these accomplishments, however, was his love for his life-long partner and wife, Manuela G. Avila. She was his pride and joy and he let the world know every chance he could. Mr. Avila’s greatest legacy is his strength of character, which inspired his life and guided his family; his work ethic, his honesty and integrity, and his kindness and generosity. A strength of character which will survive the generations to come. He will be missed and remembered by many who knew and loved him. Rest in Peace Pop. You will live in our memory and hearts forever. Visitation for Alfredo will be on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with Vigil at 6:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Martin Central, 3839 Montana Avenue. Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at 9:00 AM at St Patrick's Cathedral, 1118 N. Mesa Street.
