Alfredo Martinez, born in El Paso, nephew, brother, brother-in-law, father-in-law, uncle, dad, grandpa and one “great grandpa”, moved on to his final journey Friday afternoon, January 8, 2016 surrounded by his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Maria de la Luz and Anastacio Martinez, and leaves behind many loved ones to cherish his memories. Sports, traveling, dancing, mariachis, joking around and spending time with family and friends were what he lived for. Having purchased an older house, Fred spent his free time remodeling the home always promising to complete the projects in “two weeks!” For this hard working man, there was no project too big or too small. All this was accomplished while still working, dedicating many years to ADDCO Millwork (where he met Frances), Billy the Kid, Yselta Roofing, and retiring from ELCOM YAZAKI. In addition to his wife, Frances, he survived by his 4 children, Lori (Mando), Fred, Belinda (Jorge) and Bobby; 11 grandchildren, Johnny, Liana, Emily, Brian, Adam, Ian, Jazmine, Matthew, Christopher, Aaron, and Elizabeth; 4 great grandchildren Sherlyn, Giovanni, Natalie and Bethany. His siblings include Raul (Elvia) , Salvador (Rita), Armando (Tencha), Roberto, Alice (Gilbert), Eddie (Margaret), Ernie (Sylvia), Susie (Raymond), Saul, and Ana (Danny) who spent time with each other every chance they had. In addition, he survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews, and two loving aunts, Tia Tala and Tia Chayo. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Portillo, Jaime, Leah, all the staff of Texas Oncology, Dr. Gouveia and Dr. Burke who worked diligently to provide the best possible care for Fred. They never failed to go the extra mile! Visitation will be Sunday, January 17, 2016 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at Martin Funeral Home Central with a rosary 6:00pm. Funeral Mass Monday, January 18, 2016 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial at Memory Gardens of The Valley Cemetery.
