I will miss you, Alice. I met Alice because she’s the sister of my husband’s grandmother. I met her once or twice back in 2008 and 2009 when we came to the US for a holiday. In 2014 we moved to the US and we were unexpectedly without a place to stay and Alice offered us a place to stay. It was my favorite period in El Paso. Alice, Mick, Jeffrey, Rob and I had so much fun, just enjoying the daily pleasures in life. A birthday celebration, grocery shopping, eating dinner together. You were a big part in making the US my new home. Alice embodied what El Paso stands for: friendly, kind, hospitable. She was also straight forward in a nice way, wise and very funny, even until her last day. What a great example to have and I feel so privileged to have known her. I’m so sad she is gone.

I would like to take this opportunity to send our heartfelt condolences to our former students: Michael, Jr., John, Jerry, Jim, Judy and Jackie and of course Jeffrey. Mothers are the strongest and most amazing beings, bringing life into this world and nurturing so many qualities that make us who we are today. We remember, we honor and we celebrate your Mom who served as a role model and influence in your education in many different ways. I loved to see her smile with that twinkle in her eye when she talked about all of you and your incredible accomplishments.

During your years in elementary school, she constantly supported and encouraged with great pride all of your academic events at school. She was an amazing mother who inspired you to dream big, to have a voice and to make a difference. Mothers are the most important and special people in our lives and your mother was truly "one in a million" - always there for you and a true advocate for education. I hope you can take comfort from knowing how proud she was of each and every one of you.

Anita and I send our condolences. I have wonderful memories growing up in El Paso with your family. So much laughter. I'm glad we got to reconnect during a visit years ago. Your mom made us feel welcome and fed us. I'll never forget it. May God bless and comfort you during this time.

I would like to take this time to thank my cousins for sharing their beautiful mother with the rest of the world. Lord knows, having had 7 children you would think that she would be spread out pretty thin. But she always had a welcoming open door policy. One which I so very often used. Tia, you always had time for everyone and made each one of us feel an integral part of your family. Thank you always opening your wonderful home and beautiful heart to us. And although we miss you terribly, we take so much comfort in knowing that the Arms of our Lord were wide open to welcome you Home. And we know with you safely and happily Home now, that Heaven has one more precious Angel. Say “Hello” to my uncle Mike and my sister Becky, my Nina Eva and my Aunt Lillian. “I love you all so very much.”
