Alicia and I worked together before Eric and her were married. It was a very small office with just the two of us working together which gave us plenty of time to chat about many subjects and I got to know her very well. One of the many things I admired about her was her level headedness in sometimes impossibly stressful situations. She never got rattled or defeated when we were challenged financially or had difficulty fulfilling an order. She would simply lean into the challenge and work to resolve it, all the while maintaining a cheerful outlook inspiring us to succeed in the many challenges we had back then. We both moved on to other things from that business but I was blessed when she and Eric decided to move their relationship to the next level and commit to each other, she remained as a presence in my life and i saw her as a perfect companion to my brother who I knew shared her views and values. I was surprised when years later I received the news that she and Eric had twins on the way. Back in time when she and I worked together, she was very guarded about discussing a future with children and I had always assumed that was not something she would seek in her future. As I got to know her over the years , I always thought that out of all of the individuals I had met in my life that she would make an incredible parent with her endless patience and her personal grace, wisdom and love of the simple immaterial things that are important in ones life. I was so elated when I got the news that Eric and her were blessed with twins Dalia and Diego. As I had thought she rose to the occasion raising two incredibly gifted children and unlocked their many talents. As I will now watch them grow into teens, young adults and grownups without their mother, the sadness of that will be overcome by the knowledge that in the 14 years they had her, she had managed to transfer her best traits to these blessed children. I look forward to what the future will hold for them.

A LICHITA…
¡NUNCA TE IRÁS DEL TODO!
Tu esencia volverá a renacer en primavera,
en pequeños retoños en tu entorno;
¡dejaste vida!
y brotará como un milagro
en la tierna mirada de los ojos
de tu Diego y de tu Dahlia querida.
¡NUNCA TE IRÁS DEL TODO!
sólo te has transformado
y más allá del sol, las estrellas y el cielo,
has emprendido un vuelo...
sabemos hoy que Dios
te alberga en un lugar y que nos ves… contenta.
Te has quedado tatuada
en la triste mirada de la mujer que te engendró
y un día te trajo al mundo ilusionada,
te has quedado tatuada
en el alma de tu esposo y de tu hermano
y volverá el dolor en cada aniversario
en que tu viaje perenne rememore
tu ausencia año tras año.
derrochaste entusiasmo, fortaleza,
lealtad, temeridad y empeño,
¡NUNCA TE IRÁS DEL TODO!
¡Y AQUÍ ESTAMOS TUS INCONDICIONALES!
tu madre, tus pequeños y tu leal compañero
y tú querido hermano, tus amigos
y todos los demás que te quisimos
Aquí estamos y estaremos
hasta el fin de los tiempos,
tus incondicionales… para decir: ¡PRESENTES!

This is one of the first pictures we took of her beautiful smile while in the company of her love. Now she smiles at us from above. We miss you Lichita...

One of the most fond memories I have of Lichita is when I was a child. We would have fun together. She owned a small motorcycle and she picked me up from elementary school to take me home in her motorcycle. When we visited my Ita's house she would take me to Bassett Center just to look around and then we would stop for ice cream. I can't thank her enough for always loving my mother and showing care for her as if she was her second mother. She is missed. My condolences to the entire family.

Alicia was our daughter-in-law and we loved her dearly. We especially enjoyed her quite low-key sense of humor. She was a very kind person and was always so helpful to others. We never saw her get angry or upset at anything or anyone. She was a wonderful Mother. She passed too young , but she will always remain in our memories and our hearts. Ron & Pia
