She was born in El Paso, Texas on January 14, 1935, and was preceded in death by her parents, Tomasa and Daniel Franco, sister, Magdalena Trevino, and her son, Eric Daniel Salcedo.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Victor Octavio Salcedo; children, Patrick Salcedo and Rebecca Salcedo Orndorf (Bruce); two grandchildren, Adam Orndorf (Paola) and Candice Orndorf (Jeff), and three great grandchildren, Olivia Grace, Sam Griffin, and Stella Amelia.
She also leaves behind the close friends she made at Sierra Medical Center where she dedicated more than 20 years of service as a volunteer.
Not one who conformed to the representation of women of her generation, she followed her passion for aviation and excelled in a male-dominated field of aviation for over 35 years, until her retirement. She was a shining example of what passion and persistence can accomplish.
While her death is a profound loss to her loved ones, her life was remarkable and something to be proud of, celebrated and honored by us all.
