Andrea B Pimentel, of El Paso, Texas passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2021. Our precious mother was born Andrea Brinson, on a cold winter night November 30th, 1916, more than 104 years ago. She passed away peacefully in her home, on a Spring Lenten Sunday; transitioning on to her glorious new life. She grew up poor with a humble beginning in the projects of South El Paso. She evolved into as beautiful a human being on the inside as she was on the outside and with a heart of Gold. Everyone who came to know her came to love her. She was a devout Catholic with a strong work ethic and even stronger drive to overcome her life’s challenges. She was determined to thrive, especially after losing her husband at a young 49 years of age leaving her to raise and educate her 5 daughters as a single parent. Mother never re-married, committed to provide for her children on her own. Her faith and her children became her rock. She learned to live, love and laugh along side her girls who she groomed to become self reliant confident, educated women. Her home was a revolving door of family, friends and visitors whose hearts were nourished by her boundless unconditional love. She was thoughtful, helpful, strong, confident and generous, with a keen sense of humor, all wrapped up into one adorable little lady. Never idle and always involved in her labor of love with arts and crafts, playing cards with her girlfriends, water aerobic exercise at the YWCA and traveling to spend quality time with her grandchildren. She loved her “beer” and was energized by parties where she could express herself through singing and dancing. She protected her children, who always came first and she always had words of encouragement to “never pass up an opportunity to do better for yourself and others”. She would drop everything to defend and come to our rescue as quickly as she would fill the open empty hand of those less fortunate. She has been the love of our lives and the rock foundation by which her children have built their lives. Her final curtain song inspired by Frank Sinatra was “I did it my way …. “ and by God she did! Farewell our precious Mother, we bid you a peaceful journey through the gates of Heaven …. Rest in Peace Sleeping Beauty ….. Watch over us ….. Until we meet again. You will forever live in our hearts.
