Anita, Happy Birthday!  You were born to share Jesus' Birthday.  My belief is that you are  in your heavenly home with Jesus Himself,  that He welcomed you with open arms.  We can only imagine what Heaven is like.   "Que se encuentra en Mi presencia, que se inclina ante Mi, y que le ha visto la cara a Dios."  That will be my memory of you.   God Bless You. Dear Estrada Family,  My classroom was right across the hall from Anita's at the Academy of Science and Technology in Ysleta.  Anita was such a wonderful teacher and a wonderful person.  I will always remember those years.  Several years ago we had a reunion at the Furrs on Mesa and I sat next to Anita.  It was just like old times.  I know she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.   


Anita, I have lost my good friend and comadre and that makes me very sad but I’m happy that you leave me with such happy memories of our friendship since our grade school years. You have a very special place in my heart . Our prayers are with you and your family

It was a pleasure working with you at Del Valle High School.  You were such a warm person.  I remember that I  hadn't  seen you in such a long time then we met at jury duty.  I was so happy to see a happy, friendly face there.  To have a friend to spend Judy duty time was awesome.  I will miss  you dearly.

My dear friend, I will miss you. We would call each other and I knew that you were always the same friendly loving friend from our childhood years. I will never forget you. Walking to school I had to pass by your house and sometimes I would go in and be welcomed by your wonderful Mom. I live in TN.  very far from El Paso but we were a phone call away. About 2 weeks or so ago we talked about making tamales, and I made a video just for you to watch later on how to make them. My dear Anita I will miss you very much. I send you my love in spirit. To Mr. Estrada, Wonnie, Debbie, Judy and your beautiful families:

My heart is broken for you. Your mama was a part of my life for 40 years, and I cannot even find the words to express how fortunate I am to have had her in my life. She treated me as one of her own - HOW LUCKY WAS I?! It was always a treat to come into her home, and be greeted with open arms, and that warm smile that always seemed to be on her face.  Even after moving from El Paso, I always tried to come by to see her (oh yeah, and you too, Wonnie...) when I came home to visit.  Once my visits home became more sporadic, we were able to keep in touch through Facebook.  It was always a joy to see pictures of her enjoying the family she loved so much.  I will always remember her rolling her eyes at me and saying, "AYE, CHRISTI!!" I must have heard it a million times, and I will truly miss hearing it from her voice.

My prayers are with all of you, and I hope that you find strength and peace knowing that your mama was and will forever be loved by so many, and that she loved her family so much.

I will celebrate her life, and the impact she had on mine forever.  I love you,  Mama Estrada.  Rest in Paradise.

My deepest condolences to Luz and the Estrada family for this great loss.  I had the pleasure of knowing Anita  while I taught in the YISD.  Even when I moved to Houston we would get together sometimes  when I visited El Paso.  It was a shock to me to know of her passing and am deeply sorry.   May her soul rest in peace, and may her family find comfort in celebrating the beautiful memories that she leaves behind.

Anita  and I worked at Hunt Bldg Corporation in the early 70’s. We remained friends after we both went into teaching at YISD. Anita and Luz became long lasting friends.  May you Rest In Peace Dear Friend. God Bless You.
