

Armida Alvarez returned home (Heaven) on April 29, 2016, where she was greeted and embraced by parents: father, Salvador and mother, Margarita Alvarez and many other family members now at rest. She is survived by her brother, Luis and wife, Yolanda Alvarez, her sister, Yvonne and her husband, Jose Lopez; four nephews: Louie Alvarez, Martha Padilla, Yvonne Boggs and Joe Lopez, plus four cousins. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy and received an Associate’s Degree from ELPCC. She worked and retired from White Sands Missile Range. She was the first Hispanic to work in the Commanding General’s Office as Secretary to the Chief of Staff. She was a devoted Parishioner at St. Patrick Cathedral where she served as a lector, Eucharistic Minister, helped in the Sandwich Ministry and participated in other activities. She traveled extensively to Europe, Canada, Bahamas, Mexico and the US States.
Vitiation will be held from 5 pm to 9 pm, May 6th at Martin Funeral Home where Vigil at 7 pm. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., May 7th at St. Patrick Cathedral. Interment will follow in Evergreen (Alameda) Cemetery.
