Aurora P Miramontes

Adored mother, wife, grandmother, aunt, amiga and recent great grandmother, Aurora Miramontes (Lala), 96, passed away peacefully of natural causes on July 18th, 2016.

Aurora was born in Morenci, Arizona to Concepcion (Tota) and Rosendo Ponce. She was a life-long resident of El Paso. She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, George V. Miramontes; sisters - Rebecca Puga, Concha Rios, Emilia Garza; bothers -Arturo Ponce, Alfredo Ponce, Pete Ponce, Manuel Ponce; in-laws - Bertha Tellez, Elena Carreon, Charlie Miramontes, Julieta Collins; and son-in-law – Elio Castanuela. She is survived by her children - Irma Miramontes, Suzanne Castanuela, Victor Miramontes; daughter in law – Loretta Miramontes; grandchildren - Elizabeth and Patrick Croas, Barbara and Jason DeLaney, Andres Miramontes, Jorge and Candace Miramontes; great granddaughter, whose voice she heard for the first time hours before her passing, Emma Shay Miramontes; and sister-in-law - Estella Bayona; her nephews and nieces - Alonzo and Mary Garza (her other son), Frank and Mary Puga, Beatrice and Everett Contreras, Irene and Joe Ortiz, Chita and Edward Fernandez, Armando Rios, Tony Rios, Alicia Rios, Oscar Rios, Yolanda Rios, George Ponce, Alma Ponce, Maria Christina Edwards, Javier Ponce, David Ponce, Bertha Ponce, Nena Ponce, Ricky Ponce, Delphie Fernandez, Alfonso Tellez, Becky Tellez, Arturo Bayona, Marcela Revilla, Octavio Bayona, Rodolfo Bayona, Eduardo Bayona, Annie Rogers, Christina Garcia, Louie Carreon, Alice Armendariz; and all their children – all just part of the family she loved.

A heart felt appreciation to the staff of Nazareth Living Care Center and her wonderful daily health care companions Letty Delgado and Hilda Garcia.

Beautiful and all loving Aurora will be forever missed by her family and friends. May she rest in peace in the loving arms of our Lord, Jesus Christ, and our Virgin Mother Mary.

Visitation will be from 5 P.M. to 9 P.M. with Rosary beginning at 7 PM at Martin Funeral Home Central on Wednesday, July 20th . Funeral Mass, Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 9:15 A.M at St Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
