

Beatrice Cervantes De La Cruz passed away in her sleep surrounded by her family on Tuesday April 12, 2016, at the age of 80. She was born, raised and lived in El Paso, Texas and is survived by her husband Luis H. De La Cruz of 58 years. They were married in El Paso, Texas on April 28, 1957 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
Predeceased in death by her parents Mathias Cervantes Sr. and Jesusita Baca Cervantes, brother Isidro Cervantes (survived by his wife Angelina Cervantes), Mathias Cervantes Jr.(survived by his wife Martha Cervantes), Alfonso Cervantes (wife Charollette Cervantes). and sister Guadalupe Cervantes Drusina husband Fernando Drusina. Her surviving two sisters, Ernestine Garcia of Dallas, Texas ( husband Steve Garcia), Jessica Diek of Woodland Hills, CA (husband Al Diek), her brother Orlando Cervantes from Las Cruces, New Mexico and several nieces and nephews.
Beatrice attended Zavala Elementary then later graduated from Jefferson High School where she was sophomore favorite and her senior year she was selected Band Sweetheart in 1954. She worked for the El Paso Independent School District, volunteered for the United Way Blood Drives and contributed her time to: Hijas de Maria, and an active member of the Lulac. She dedicated her life in being a housemother and spent many of her years being a room mother for all four of her children.
She is survived by her four children, Deanna A. De La Cruz, Luis Rene De La Cruz wife Martha De La Cruz, Melinda Kruse, Richard Luis De La Cruz wife Christina Huerta De La Cruz. Beatrice grandchildren: Valeria Alicia De La Cruz- Esparza husband Tomas Esparza reside in Glendora, California, Matthew Rene De La Cruz, Christian Luis De La Cruz, and Julia Louis De La Cruz, all of whom live in San Antonio, Texas. All her grandchildren brought her great joy.
Pallbearers are: Luis Rene De La Cruz, Richard Luis De La Cruz, Matthew Rene De La Cruz, Christian Luis De La Cruz, Tomas Esparza and Orlando Cervantes.

Visitation will be Sunday 5-9 pm; Rosary at 7 pm at Martin Funeral Home Central, Church Service will be Monday April 17 at 1:15 pm at St. Francis Xavier Catholic church. Funeral procession will follow and final destination is Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jefferson High School band at Teachers Federal Credit Union Account number #19372.
