Benito A. Rodriguez

Beloved husband and father Benito Alejandro Rodriguez passed away peacefully on June 15th 2010. A fourth-generation El Pasoan and lifelong educator, Benito earned his Master’s Degree in Applied English Linguistic from U.T.E.P. After graduate studies at U.C.L.A., he was selected for a Fulbright Lecturer Fellowship and went on to teach English as a Second Language Methodology at the Universidad de San Marcos in Lima, Peru. He retired after 36 years with the El Paso Independent School District. Preceded in death by his parents Benito and Isabel Rodriguez; brother Ruben O. Rodriguez; sisters Maria Luisa Sanchez and Emma Osuna; brothers-in-law Alfonso Sanchez, Enrique Torres and Carlos Osuna. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Lorena Rodriguez; daughter Lorena and her husband Tom; sons Adrian and Alejandro and his wife Pamela; Sister Anna V. Torres; sister-in-law Carmen and her husband David; many nephews, nieces, beloved pets, grandparents and his much love companion-at-his-side Tika. The family woul like to thank the following for their care and attention; Doctors Rodarte, Martinez, Serna, Quezada and Valilis; the CCU staff of Providence Hospital and Mariposa Hospice.
