It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Bertha “Betty” Licon. She passed away peacefully at home on March 28, 2026 at age 83. A beloved sister and daughter, Betty brought light into the lives of everyone she met, leaving behind a legacy of laughter and warmth. Her kindness was endless, her heart full of love. Though she is no longer by my side, I will carry her spirit with me in every step I take.
Bertha was born on February 4, 1943, in Chihuahua, Chihuahua MX. She is preceded in death by her mother Jesus M. Licon; father Zeferino Licon; and her sister Margarita Ayers.
She is survived by sister Sandra Licon (Paul Jones), Thomas Licon (Lupe), Peter Licon (Rosa), her niece Erica Ramirez, grandniece Ali Gamez, and grandnephew Paul Mooney Jr, as well as, many nephews, and nieces. Pallbearers: Paul Jones, Tommy Licon Jr., Ethan Licon, Adrian Torres, Oscar Ramirez, Raymond Valle and Ruben Licon.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 13, 2026 from 4:00pm to 9:00pm with a rosary at 6:30pm at Funeraria Del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Ave. El Paso, Texas 79903. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at 11:15am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 2709 Alabama St. El Paso, Texas 79930 with a committal to follow at Restlawn Cemetery, 4848 Alps El Paso, Texas 79904.
