Cheryl is survived by her sister, Pamela Beightel, lifelong companion, Sandra Jaeger, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins residing in Kansas and Colorado. She is predeceased by her mother, Fanchoen and her father, Paul.
Cheryl was born in El Paso, Texas on May 17, 1958 to Paul and Fancheon Beightel. She graduated from Burges High School in 1976 and from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) with a degree in Nursing. She received certifications in Orthopedic Nursing and Nurse Auditing. She worked for 35 years at Sierra Medical Center, first as a Floor Nurse in the Orthopedics Department and then as a Nurse Auditor.
Cheryl was passionate for local community theatre, serving as a patron for the UTEP Dinner Theatre and Viva El Paso from both behind-the-scenes and as an audience member. Cheryl travelled the world and beyond through the pages of a good book; it was rare to find her without a paperback or Kindle in her purse. Cheryl was an avid sports fan, supporting her hometown teams and stars (especially former Burges Mustang, Aaron Jones) and the teams of her loved ones. Her true joy in life, outside of her family and friends, were the cats that she loved and cared for, including her current feline companion, Cleopatra.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local Trap-Neuter-Return organization or support the UTEP Dinner Theatre.
