Christopher (Chris) Brandon Steven went to be with our Lord on Friday, July 3, 2026, mourned by his loving wife, mother, sister and entire family and friends. He was born September 12, 1993, a bouncing baby boy. He was his maternal grandmother’s sidekick who made each other laugh. He was a proud to be a Clendenin Unicorn, Bassett Middle School Hound, and he was especially proud to be a Panther graduate of Austin High School, Class of 2012. He worked for the El Paso Diablos, El Paso Chihuahuas and Top Golf. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on December 2019, and left for boot camp May 2020. He conquered the dreaded Reaper in July 2020 becoming a Proud Marine, graduating September 11, 2020. After going to schoolhouse, he choose Okinawa as his duty station, leaving for Japan April 2021. There is where he met the love of his life, Anna Kuba in 2022 and they married July 17, 2023. He was medically retired May 2025 as Lance Corporal. He and Anna had their Shinto Wedding Ceremony February 2026 and had scheduled their honeymoon for September 2026 and wanted to start a family.
Christopher is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather and fellow Marine, Enrique (Henry) Corona, his father Ronald Steven, his paternal grandmother Rita Johnston, grandfather Darrell Sr., uncle Darrell Jr. He is survived by the love of his life, wife Anna Steven Kuba, mother Theresa Corona Steven, sisters Theresa Ashley Steven and Lindsey Steven, maternal grandmother and sidekick Maria Elena Corona, aunts Genoveva and Patricia Corona, Rebecca Corona Silva(Jose), Dawn and Connie Steven, uncle Rick Steven, 16 cousins, 22 great-cousins, 3 great-great cousins, father and mother-in-law Yoshinori and Ayako Kuba, sisters-in-law Akiko Ura(Soujirou), Asako Watanabe(Daichi), nieces Ayumi Ura, Airi, Saki, Mei, Tetta Watanabe, extended family and friends in El Paso and Okinawa, and his fellow Marine Brothers.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, July 15, 2026 with visitation from 5-9 p.m. with the praying of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. Mass will be Thursday, July 16, 2026 at 8 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 2709 Alabama St. followed with Christian Burial at Fort Bliss National Cemetery at 9:30 a.m.
