Connie moved to El Paso, TX. as a child and attended Ysleta High School where she graduated in 1961. She was a member of the El Paso Garden Club and owned and operated the Planter Box, a local plant shop. She was an avid gardener and decorator; and enjoyed crafting, knitting, crocheting and the outdoors. She loved traveling with her kids. Her life centered around Steven, Michele and Maddie as well as family and friends. Her home was a refuge for many.
Connie worked for the Ysleta School District as a substitute teacher for many years. She worked in various banks in El Paso and eventually retired as an accountant.
Connie accepted Jesus Christ as her savior and openly confessed her love for God. She now rests in His presence, with a new body free from suffering.
Connie is survived by her daughter Michele Noguess and son-in-law Jamie Noguess; and her son Steven Maupin; her granddaughter Madeleine Ruth Sinclair-Maupin, her granddaughter Elizabeth Noguess, her grandson James Noguess, her great-grandson Thomas Lanier, her cousin Jay Jackson, her cousin Kay Jackson, her cousin Joy Jackson, her cousin Eddie Jackson and her cousin Jody Baley.
Connie was preceded in death by her father John Ott Slaton and her mother Etta Mae Slaton.
Memorial service for Connie will be held at Windmill Cowboy Church, 3655 La Bonita Dr. SE, Deming, NM 88030 at 11:00am Monday, January 3, 2022. Lunch and a time of fellowship will immediately follow the service.
