Born on January 10, 1917 to the late Felipe and Dolores Frescas in Meoqui, Chihuahua, Mexico. She married the love of her life, the late Jesus Armendariz at Sacred Heart Church in 1939. Together they made their home in El Paso, Texas, raising 3 children: Minnie (Gilbert) Aguero, Betty (Juan) Valdez and Joe (Susan) Armendariz. Consuelo (Chelo) was a devout Catholic. Her greatest passion in life was her family. She loved music and family gatherings which almost always included dancing. She was known for her delicious cooking and baking. Her favorite hobby was tending to her garden and caring for her beautiful rose bushes. Chelo was a very sweet and special soul who will surely be missed by all who knew her. She will live on in each of us, the friends and family she loved and whose lives she touched!
Surviving are Grandchildren Debbie (Louie) Villa, Gilbert Aguero Jr., Art (Michele) Armendariz, Christina (Louie) Cuevas, Linda (George) Puentes, Jessica (Jecca) Armendariz. 10 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great-Great Grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters Ramona Carter and Josefina Carlos, along with countless family members and friends whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by grandsons Eddie Martinez and Joseph Armendariz; her brothers Felipe, Margarito, Francisco, Antonio, Raymundo and sister Manuela Marquez.
Visitation will be 9:00am-11:00am, Vigil at 9:30am, Friday, February 26, at Funeraria Del Angel Central, 3839 Montana.
