Cristina dedicated much of her life to serving her community. She spent 24 years working in retail at Furrs before transitioning to a 15-year career in law enforcement with the El Paso Processing Center. A devoted member of the Catholic Church, she found great joy and purpose in her faith and cherished the time she spent with her family.
She is survived by her loving children, Samantha Matthews (wife Andrea) and Melissa Santa Anna (wife Marisa Curiel), as well as her beloved granddaughter, Madeleine Louise Weathers. She is also survived by her mother, Lupe Navarro, and her siblings, Nora Chavez (husband Gonzalo), Corinne Hernandez, and Martha Navarro.
Cristina is preceded in death by her father, Hipolito Navarro.
Her warmth, strength, and unwavering love for her family and faith will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A visitation for Cristina will be held Monday, February 10, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Evergreen East Funeral Home & Cemetery, 12400 East Montana, El Paso, Texas 79938. A rosary will occur Monday, February 10, 2025 at 7:00 PM, 12400 East Montana, El Paso, Texas 79938. A mass of christian burial will occur Tuesday, February 11, 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at St. Paul Catholic Church, 7424 Mimosa St., El Paso, Texas 79915. A committal service will occur Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Evergreen Cemetery East, 12400 Montana Ave., El Paso, TX 79938.
