Devon Marcus Gee

Devon Marcus Gee, age 33, of Denver, Colorado, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025. Born on September 2, 1992, to Antonio Keith Gee and Kristie Hilton, Devon brought joy, energy, and compassion into the lives of all who knew him.

A proud graduate of East High School (Class of 2011), Devon pursued his love of basketball at Trinidad State College, where he played with heart and passion. Basketball wasn’t just a sport to Devon—it was a lifelong love, a way to connect, compete, and build community. Whether playing, coaching, or volunteering as a referee, he created lasting memories on and off the court.

Devon’s vibrant spirit was reflected in his favorite color—green—and his devotion to the Broncos, Nuggets, and Lakers. But more than teams or colors, Devon loved people. He was a lover of God, a lover of family, and a loyal friend to many. His smile lit up rooms, his humor lifted spirits, and his helping hand was always extended to those in need.

He is survived by his beloved daughter Jayla Gee, his father Antonio Keith Gee, mother Kristie (Chip) Hilton, siblings Isiah Gee and Danielle Woods, maternal grandparents Greg and Renae Sherlock, aunts and uncles Jason Powers and Teresa Dobbs, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, paternal grandfather Arnold Gee, Aunts: Anita Gee; LaSandra Gee; Tawanda Gee; Lois Shaver and Lisa Gordon as well Uncles: Sherman Gee; Lamont Gordon and Greg Gordon.

Devon was preceded in death by his sister Kaylee Butler, James Powers and grandmother Carolyn Gee.

Devon’s impact was felt far and wide. Friends remember him as “a bright light,” “an amazing father,” “a good dude always willing to lend a helping hand,” and “a helluva ball player.”

One friend shared, “Devon was truly part of our family and best friend to my son.” Another recalled, “He touched so many lives… he was an awesome dude.”

Psalm 34:18 reminds us, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Devon’s passing leaves a deep ache, but also a legacy of love, laughter, and faith. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, especially his sweet baby girl Jayla, whose life will always be shaped by the love of her father.

We hold close the gift of Devon’s life and the comfort of knowing he is at peace.
