Dionel S. Martinez Jr.

Dionel (Danny) Simon Martinez, Jr., 75, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. He was born December 8, 1948 to Dionel Sr. and Dominga Martinez. He was a 1968 graduate from Jefferson High School and was an All-District football player. He served proudly in the United States Navy on the USS Saratoga. He was married to his longlife love, Carol Lynn Martinez (Odland) for 49 years. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Deidre Renee Martinez and his parents, Dionel Sr. and Dominga Martinez. He is survived by his wife, Carol Martinez; daughter, Dara Martinez (Cutter); grandchildren, Asia Cobarrubias, Taylor Castillo, Diesel Castillo and Hunter Castillo; sisters, Cynthia Valenzuela (Tony), Diana Avila (Julian), and Delma Martinez (Jesse); numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Friday, August 9, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home, 12400 Montana, 79938. Military honors will be rendered by the Navy at 3 p.m. at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher Avila, Aaron Martinez, Victor Gonzalez, Adrian Anthony Valenzuela, Brandon Valenzuela, and Jorge Arenivas. Honorary pallbearers will be Adrian Ronald Valenzuela, Diesel Dionel Castillo, and Hunter Gavin Castillo. Danny will truly be missed, we love you always and forever.
