

Elva was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose strength, independence, and adventurous spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. Guided by her strong Catholic faith, she carried herself with compassion, resilience, and love throughout her life. Her faith was an important source of strength and comfort to her and remained central to who she was.
Born and raised in El Paso, Elva held a deep and lifelong love for her hometown of El Paso and the community that shaped her. She also treasured the amazing group of friends she built throughout her life, friendships that brought her joy, laughter, support, and countless cherished memories.
She cherished her role as a mother and took immense pride in the family she built and loved so deeply.
She is survived by her children, Henry, George, and Elva; her son-in-law, Daniel Rojas; and daughter-in-law, Barbara Padilla. She was a devoted grandmother to her ten beloved grandchildren: Amani, Aaron, Alia, Ava Alexis, Antonio, Quique, Isabella, Alina, JorgeEmilio, and Noah, all of whom brought her tremendous joy.
Elva is also survived by her sisters, Rosa Lopez and Irma Gomez, and her brother, Jaime Gutierrez. She shared a special bond with her niece and nephew, Cynthia and Tom Lopez, whom she loved as her own children.
Elva had a deep love for traveling and exploring new cultures. She embraced life with curiosity and courage, always seeking new experiences and adventures. Her fierce independence, resilience, and warm spirit will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Though her family mourns her loss deeply, they take comfort in the memories she created and the love she gave so freely throughout her life, and in the faith that she is now at peace in God’s embrace.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 20, 2026 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at Funeraria Del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Ave. El Paso, Texas 79903. Vigil will be at 12:00 pm with a funeral mass to follow at 12:30 pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 2709 Alabama St. El Paso, Texas 79930 with a Committal to follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, 401 S. Zaragoza El Paso, Texas 79907.
She will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
