Emma Acosta, 85, left her earthly family on October 27, 2020, to join her heavenly family. Emma was a lifelong El Paso resident, having graduated from El Paso Technical High School in 1954, where she was an avid tennis player. She worked many years as a clerk/receptionist at a doctor's office. Emma was an extremely independent individual and never married or had children, but loved animals, especially cats, owning many throughout her life until she was unable to keep them where she lived. Emma had a sweet tooth, loved chocolate and she had an affinity for purses. Although a very petite woman, 5 feet tall and 90 pounds, Emma would always carry a large purse. What she lacked in size, she made up for with her kindness and graciousness, always sharing funny jokes along with words of wisdom. She received everyone with open arms. Emma will be greatly missed.
Emma was predeceased by her parents, Concepcion Nunez Acosta and Adolfo Acosta, all her brothers and sisters; Concepcion Acosta Labrado, Adolfo Acosta, Jr., Roberto Acosta, Ignacio Acosta, Hector Acosta, Amelia Acosta; sister-in-law, Aurora Acosta and nephew Ignacio Acosta, Jr.
She is survived by her two sisters-in-law, Julieta R. Acosta and Petra S. O. Acosta; nieces and nephews, Gloria Cullen, Robert Acosta, Jr., Josie Diaz, Yvonne Acosta, Olga Labrado Thurman, Eduardo Labrado, Jr., Richard Acosta, Aurora Madrid and Aaron Acosta; and numerous grand-nieces, grand-nephews and second cousins.
