August 9, 1925 – June 13 2026
Emma Garcia, a woman of remarkable strength, passion, and devotion to her family, passed away peacefully at the age of 100.
She was born on August 25, 1925, in San Elizario, Texas. Emma spent the majority of her vibrant life in El Paso, spending her adult life in the medical field. She was known by all who knew her as a woman of immense resilience and independent spirit—a true cornerstone of her family.
Beyond her strength, Emma had a sharp mind and an infectious enthusiasm for sports. She was an avid, passionate bowler for many years and a legendary Major League Baseball fan. Emma didn’t just watch the games; she knew the sport inside and out, effortlessly keeping track of players, rosters, and complex statistics that would rival any professional commentator.
Her greatest legacy, however, is the family she loved so deeply. Emma is survived by her devoted daughter, Susan Yturralde; her four grandchildren, Emily Yturralde, Matthew Yturralde, Amy Arellano, and JoeAnne Arellano; and four cherished great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by daughters Ann Marie Enriquez and Pam Arellano (Armando).
Services and a memorial celebrating Emma's long and beautiful life will be held to honor her life at a later date.
