Emma B. Velasquez

Emma Bautista Velasquez, born September 3, 1936, surrounded by her devoted husband and children went to be with our Dear Lord on December 6, 2012. Emma was a loving wife and mother who believed in family and education. Her daily devotion to the Rosary exemplified her love to our Lord and the joy she received in giving thanks, and praise to our Lord. Emma graduated from EL Paso H.S. (1954), and she was a proud UTEP graduate who received her BBA in accounting in 1976. She enjoyed tennis, music, walking, and motherhood, but was most proud of her 57 years of marriage to her beloved husband. Emma is survived by her adoring husband, Roberto Velasquez, daughter Corinne V. Garza, sons, Robert Velasquez Jr., (Debbie), Jaime Velasquez (Sonia), and Rudy Velasquez(+ Rosa), 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren. Her parents Mr. Feliciano and Mrs. Delfina Bautista preceded her in death. She was one of 14 children, the surviving four are: Ricardo Bautista, Humberto Bautista, Alice Hammel, and Olga Santos. Pallbearers are: Robert Velasquez Jr., Jaime Velasquez, Rudy Velasquez, Ivan Garza, Gino Velasquez, Beau Velasquez, Rudy Velasquez Jr., and Manuel Garza. Honorary pallbearer is Robert Velasquez III. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 13, 2012 from 5pm to 9pm at Martin Funeral Home Central with Rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, December 14, 2012 at 9:45 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Interment at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
