Encarnacion “Connie” Carrillo, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully at her home on July 2, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was a source of strength, kindness, and unwavering love, and her presence will be deeply missed.
Born on October 4,1937 in El Paso, Texas, Connie grew up with a deep appreciation for family, faith, and hard work. She carried those values throughout her life, creating a home where everyone had a place.
Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Roberto Carrillo Sr, and her brother Victor Duron with whom she is now happily reunited.
She is survived by her loving children: Idaleisa Galindo, Roberto Carrillo Jr. (Maria), Victor R. Carrillo (Zulema), and Rene Carrillo (Lynda). She was blessed to have had in her lifetime seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her beloved sister-in-law Madelaine Gubanski and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will carry her memory forward.
Connie found happiness and purpose in every job she ever had whether Kress at age 14, Magoffin Middle School or her much loved Popular Dry Goods at Bassett Center. The Popular was especially important, becoming an extended family providing much laughter, a few tears and many lifelong friends. Connie loved music, in particular the sounds of Motown and Oldies to which she was known to cut a rug.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 16, 2026 from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm with a Vigil at 7:00pm at Funeraria del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Ave. El Paso, Texas 79903. Funeral mass will be held Friday, July 17, 2026 at 9:30 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3729 Hueco Ave, El Paso, Texas 79903 with commital to follow at Evergreen East Cemetery, 12400 Montana Ave, El Paso, Texas 79938.
Pallbearers will be Victor R. Carrillo, Rene Carrillo and her grandchildren: Caesar E. Galindo, Soledad A. Carrillo, Geovanna A. Carrillo, Emiliano L. Carrillo, Santana E. Galindo, and Cruz R. Galindo. Honorary pallbearers will be Orlando Bejarano and Roberto Carrillo Jr.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Julie Zuniga FNP and Bertha Martinez for their compassionate care.
Connie’s legacy lives on in the love she gave and the lives she shaped. May her soul rest in peace
