Born and raised in El Paso, Texas he attended Clardy Elementary, Henderson Middle and Thomas Jefferson High School. A graduate from the Class of 94’, Ernie left lasting memories as Band Drum Major, Senior Student Body President, President of the Future Teachers of America, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta and Senior Prom King.
Following his dream, Ernie went on to attend the University of Notre Dame. One of his several achievements was being chosen to attend a semester at Notre Dame’s campus in London, England. He graduated Notre Dame with a Bachelors Degree in Liberal Arts in 1998.
Living in Dallas for the past 14 years, Ernie loved his Dallas Mavericks, Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. But he never forgot his Fighting Irish on Saturday game days. Ernie made a tremendous impact on every life he touched. He had a strong devotion to his family which he was one of his defining characteristics. Ernie loved life and lived everyday with so much vitality and enthusiasm.
We will truly miss his charming smile and his big heart that stretched all around the country. Ernie was embraced where ever he went and left us with the true meaning of love.
He is survived by his mother Margie Villalobos, brother Nicholas Ybarra, Godson Aaron Ybarra, aunts Irene Landeros and Eva Teran. Uncles: Ramon Teran and Carlos Ybarra Sr. (wife, Angelica). Cousins Melissa Ybarra (wife, Sunny), Corina Orozco (husband, Richard), Charlie Ybarra, Jr., Isaac Ybarra & Corina Medrano. Father Ernesto Villalobos Sr. Preceeded in death by grandparents Estefana and Nati Ybarra, uncles Pedro, Ricardo and Mike Ybarra.
Please join us in celebration of his life. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Martin Funeral Home (3839 Montana), visitation from 5-9pm with rosary starting at 7pm. Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Light Church (4700 Delta Drive) on Thursday December 13, 2012 at 1:30pm followed by burial at Mount Carmel Cemetery (401 South Zaragoza).
