Mrs. Eva Louise Barnes was born on the 5th of March, 1931 in the small town of Cuba, Alabama. She attended Auburn University and became a teacher which she practiced for 42 years. She became an Army wife for 25 years and raised a family all across the world. They ended their career In El Paso which became home. She was an active member of the Scottsdale and Grandview Baptist Churches. When her husband passed she moved to Fort Worth with her only surviving son who became her caretaker. She passed peacefully at her home on the 18th of December, 2025.
She was preceded by her husband of 49 years James Benjamin Barnes. Her daughter, Beverly Carol, and her son, James Mitchell. She leaves behind her son, David L. of Fort Worth, Texas; two grandsons, Christopher Lee Barnes (Paula) of Destin, Florida and Thomas Randall of Huntsville, Alabama; a great grandson Skylar Lee Barnes and great granddaughter Mackenzie Rose Vineyard, children of Christopher.
She was greatly loved and will be missed always. She will be interned with her Husband at the Fort Bliss National Cemetery, Fort Bliss, Texas.
Visitation will be Monday, December 29, 2025 from 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Central, 3839 Montana ave. El Paso, Texas 79903. Graveside service will be Tuesday, December 30, 2025 At 9:00 a.m. at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson ave. El Paso, Texas 79906.
