

He was born on August 30, 1928 to Jesus and Julia Gonzalez, and has one sister, Guadalupe Martinez.
On January 11, 1947, Fidencio married Maria Luisa Loera and they had four children.
He joined the Texas State Guard at age 15 and later served in the Navy during WWII, Asiatic Pacific. He was an amateur boxer for the Navy in the Marshall Islands and later boxed for the Golden Gloves Pan American Optimist Team.
Then he served in the Army, Special Forces and 82nd Airborne. He moved on to Civil Service as Military Police at WBMC. He also attended UTEP as a Liberal Arts Major.
In 1997, he joined Special Forces, Isaac Camacho Chapter IX, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 812 and 82nd Benavidez / Patterson Airborne Chapter.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Luisa, his sons, Orlando (wife Alberta) , grandsons Andrew and Calvin. Son, Ernesto (wife Mina), grandsons Lorenzo, Rogelio and Ben. Daughters, Martha (husband Tony Lara), extended grandchildren Melissa, Michael, Daniel and Victor. Daughter Irma (husband Ron Whiteley).
Visitation will be on Wednesday April 6, 2016 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with rosary at 7:00pm at Martin Central, 915-566-3955.
Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Our Lady of Assumption 4800 Byron St. at 9:30am followed by interment at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery with full military honors.
