Filiberto E. Mata

Filiberto Esquivel Mata peacefully passed away November 26, 2021 at the age of 95. He was born in 1926 in Meoqui, Chihuahua, Mexico. He was preceded in death by Maria de Jesus Torres Mata, his wife of 45 years.

He is survived by his children Filiberto Torres Mata (Anna), Silvia Mata Mier, Maria Elizabeth Mata Widby (James), and Javier Gerardo Mata (Cathy), and grandchildren Gilbert Cameron Mata, Michael Mata (Amy), Krystal Eby (Nathan), Jennifer Madrid Hernandez, Lori Ann Mata, Hector Anthony Mier, Raymond Perez Jr. (Christy Villegas), Vanessa Michelle Perez (Edgar Meza), Jaye Marie Widby, Melissa Mata, Belinda Lee Mata ♰, Matthew Mata (Nikki), 19 great grandchildren; Anthony Mason Mata, Stephen Carter Mata, Kevin Michael Mata, Megan Ashley Mata, Molly Joan Mata, Madeline Denise Mata, Elijah Daniel Mata, Ella Faith Mata, Rene Jr. Mendez, Gabriela Mendez, Christopher Mendez, Damien Alexander Suarez, Delaney Star Suarez, Trent Maynard Suarez, Jessica Hazel Rose Suarez, Donato Perez, Joshua Andrew Mata, Nevaeh Mata, Madison Mata, and a great-great grandchild, Asmara Rose Perez. He is also survived by nephews and nieces.

He was a well known rock mason with his work prominently featured all over El Paso. He was a great and wonderful man, loved by all who knew him. He is remembered by his family as being happy, peaceful, patient, kind and full of wisdom. He taught us all so much. He loved animals and he especially loved his dog, Princy. He will be missed by all.

Pallbearers will be the grandchildren and family members.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm, Thursday, December 2, at Funeraria Del Angel Central located at 3839 Montana Avenue, El Paso, Texas 79903. Funeral service will be 9:00 am Friday, December 3, at Funeraria Del Angel Central. Interment service will follow funeral service on Friday, December 3, at Evergreen East Cemetery located at 12400 Montana Avenue, El Paso Texas at 11:00 am.
