Francisco "Frank" Samaniego, a soul of immense faith and wisdom, departed this world on September 8, 2025. Born in Doña Ana, New Mexico, on July 5, 1963, to the late Natividad and Maura Samaniego, his life was a testament to an indomitable spirit.
From an early age, Frank's hands knew the honest work of the New Mexico fields. His extraordinary work ethic led him to serve his country in the U.S. Army at the age of 18. Though a tragic motorcycle accident later left him a paraplegic, his spirit never knew the meaning of being broken. He rose above life's challenges, earning a master's degree from Park University and dedicating himself as an instructor at EPCC, where he touched countless lives.
For over 30 years, Frank was the devoted heart of his family, sharing his whole being with his beloved wife, Raquel. He was a loving father to Veronica (Gabriel), Pete (Eva), and Cesar (Michelle), a guiding light for six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous fur babies in the family. He is also survived by sisters Eva & Rosa Samaniego and he was preceded in death by his siblings Avelina, Juan, & Adrian Lopez as well as his loving niece Maribel Samaniego.
He found joy in the roar of a motorcycle, the intricate loops of a crochet needle, and the open road/sea of a family vacation. Frank was a man with a giving spirit, always ready to lend a hand, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy of strength and love remains, a beacon for all who knew him.
A celebration of Frank's life will be held with visitation on Thursday, September 18th, from 5 to 10 p.m. at Del Angel Central (3839 Montana, El Paso, TX 79903). A rosary will be held at 7 p.m.
An 11 a.m. funeral mass will be held on Friday, September 19th, at San Ignacio Catholic Church (408 Park Street, El Paso, TX 79901). Attendees are invited to wear purple in his honor. Following the mass, motorcycle riders are requested to join a final procession from the church to his resting place at Restlawn Memorial Cemetery (4848 Alps, El Paso, TX 79904).
